Nothing screams summer like peaches and vanilla ice cream. And while the peaches you grab at the grocery store may do the job, we can promise that a basket full of juicy deliciousness that you pick straight off the tree will bring your summer dessert to a whole new level.

And no, you don't have to drive hours away to fill your basket. Just about 20 minutes from the city is Faulkner Lake Orchard in North Little Rock.

The family farm/event venue opens its gates to the public each year from mid-April through August. During this time, guests are invited to pick their fill from the pick-your-own peach orchard (the only one in Pulaski County). Make sure to call ahead to see what's available for picking.

Along with the orchard, there is a children's play area, general store and event center. They also offer cooking classes, date night picnics and farm to fork dinners throughout the year. Click here for the details on all their events.

Faulkner Lake Orchard is located at 503 Morris Road in North Little Rock, and is open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday. For all the details, visit their website and follow along on FacebookTwitter and Instagram
