From movies to making and tasting, there’s no better time to spend some quality time with your children than now, before the rest of the family descends upon y'all for Christmas.

Thursday

Die Hard (1988) Screening at Ron Robinson Theater: There are two kinds of people: Those who think Die Hard is a Christmas movie and those who are wrong. Doors open at 6 p.m., and this classic starts at 7:00 p.m. Beer, wine, and concessions will be available. $5.

Make it Merry at the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub: Build a gingerbread house, and make ornaments, popcorn garland, wrapping paper, cards, village houses and much more, starting at 6 p.m. Cost is $5-$20.

Friday

15th Ever Nog-off at Historic Arkansas Museum: Get into the spirit at 5 p.m. by sampling and voting on the best eggnog in town. Competitors include Allsopp & Chapple Restaurant + Bar, Arkansas Pioneers Association, The Capital Hotel, Little Rock Marriott, Loblolly Creamery, Mocktail Mo, The Root, Stone's Throw Brewing and The Pizzeria and South on Main. FREE

2nd Friday Art Show in downtown: Join museums, galleries and other local businesses in highlighting the art, culture and history in Little Rock. Each month provides new themes and exhibits to explore, free of charge. Starts at 5 p.m.

Friday-Saturday

The Grinch on Ice at Arkansas Skatium: Enjoy this annual figure skating Christmas show. Catch this at 6 p.m. Friday or at noon Saturday. Cost is $10 in advance, or $13 at the door. Ages 4 and under are free. Call 501-227-4333 for tickets.

Saturday

So Southwest Christmas Parade: Come on out to see the floats, bands, dance groups, Santa Claus and special guests at 2 p.m. The parade starts at McClellan High School and follows Geyer Springs Road to end at the Arkansas State Police Headquarters. FREE

Cocoa & Carols at Mosaic Templars Cultural Center: Starting at 10 a.m., your family can take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, drink hot cocoa from Loblolly Creamery, enjoy a reading of holiday stories and decorate gingerbread cookies. The Dunbar Middle School Choir will also perform popular carols, and there will be an Arkansas Made, Black Crafted Junior Edition Holiday Popup Shop. FREE

Engage Picnic Social at Museum of Discovery: Join the staff of the Muscular Dystrophy Association at 9:30 a.m. to meet other families living with muscle disease. There will be a light breakfast, activities and free exploration of the museum. All ages welcome. Sign up here. FREE

Sunday

Sensory Friendly Showing of Frozen 2 at GiGi’s Playhouse: The show starts 2 p.m and there are only 50 spots, so RSVP here. Cost is $6.50, to be paid at the door.
