As my oldest student rounds out first grade, it’s somehow time to register my younger son for kindergarten. With all the intensity associated with this major milestone (especially mid-pandemic), it would be (scary) easy to let this major to-do slip through the cracks.

So, for all of you in this position now, I get it. Take a deep breath, and I hope this quick guide helps point you in the right direction!

LRSD Moves to Virtual Instruction Fridays in January 2021

LRSD asked and parents and educators have spoken: the district is moving to a full virtual instruction day each Friday. Here's what you need to know:

  • Wednesdays (currently half-days) will transition back to full in-person instruction days in January.

  • Fridays will be full instruction days and all students will be required to work on and complete assignments in the District’s LMS, Schoology.

  • If you need to send your child to campus on Fridays, you can. Meals, transportation and CARE will still be available. Your child will be supervised as they complete their virtual work.

  • Extracurricular activities will still take place on Fridays.
