  • Frisco Festival in Rogers -- Aug. 23-24

This family-friendly festival celebrates Rogers' railroad heritage with a huge street party. Families will enjoy carnival rides, delicious food, art vendors and more. Speed racers will especially enjoy the Race for the Spike, a bike race with a twist, in which cyclists try to beat the A&M Railroad train.   • Family Festival: An English Garden Party at Arkansas Arts Center -- Aug. 31

Little Rock's Arkansas Arts Center invites families to experience life as a resident of 19th century Kenwood, an English country manor. Play games, snack on food and participate in activities that might have been popular in Lord Iveagh's day. Children can dress and pose as children featured in the exhibition Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Gainsborough: The Treasures of Kenwood House, London. Or, youngsters can become artists and create masterful landscapes, seascapes and portraits. Event entry only: $5, families $20.   • 17th Annual Hot Springs Blues Festival -- Aug. 31-Sept. 1

The Spa City Blues Society of Hot Springs hosts this yearly musical affair. Children ages 12 and younger are free, so you can introduce your youngsters to true blues tunes on the cheap.   • 62nd Annual Prairie Grove Clothesline Fair -- Aug. 31-Sept. 2

The fair is held on the grounds of the Prairie Grove Battlefield Park, located 12 miles west of Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Highway 62. Situated on a Civil War battlefield with historic buildings and many shade trees, more than 100 craft booths with vendors will be selling their wares.
